SEASON 2023-2024

Feat at the Bach festival

Christophe Huss, Le Devoir

“The Bach Festival is entering its final week. As with television series, streaming on allows you to enjoy past concerts at will, out of time or with bulimic viewing.

Saturday evening at the Maison symphonique, the Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Jean-Claude Picard, gave a program of famous cantatas: “Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen”, BWV 51, for soprano, “Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen », BWV 56, for bass and Cantata BWV 32 for soprano and bass.

With irradiating highs and mastering the vocals, Myriam Leblanc, who had never sung either the BWV 32 or the 51, was able to overcome in a few hours the defection, the same morning, of the soprano initially planned. The smile after the last “Alleluia” of Cantata BWV 51 said a lot about the feat accomplished in a few hours which, at this level, held in all points (quality, accuracy, voice) pure phenomenon.”
